Stroke story - BRAIN HEMORRHAGE DUE TO HIGH BP - EARLY STROKE REHABILITATION USING THE C2C PROCESS

This happened in 2015

A 65-year-old gentleman, senior Maths Professor &  a former Principal of very a reputed college in Bengaluru and a Sanskrit scholar, a known high BP patient, had suddenly developed a right-sided Hemiparesis (weakness of the entire right side of his body due to a stroke) with Aphasia (difficulty in both speaking and understanding). He was initially in a state of semi-coma. CT/MRI scans of the Brain had revealed a BLOOD CLOT (bleeding due to sudden high BP) in the left side of the brain ( a Basal Ganglion Intra Cerebral Haemorrhage). He was treated conservatively for the blood clot. Early and intensive neurorehabilitation was started by Team NewRo from day 3 in the ICU itself! This was continued for the next 4 months with intensive rehab both as an in-patient in the hospital initially and then as an out-patient subsequent to some recovery.

Though the initial recovery was slow and very marginal, he showed a progressive improvement in all his disabilities and after just 4 months of the haemorrhage, he RECOVERED 100% (hand, leg and speech) and had restarted teaching Maths in class rooms and chanting Sanskrit shlokas with ease!!

His initial C2C score was C2C BIR2a. his final C2C score was C2C BIR4! Normal!

Comments from his family:

His wife and sons were very concerned that his right side and speech may not recover (as many family members & friends had scared them). They didn’t want him to become disabled and bedridden after such a successful career. They followed all our advice diligently and adjusted their work and life schedules so that the rehabilitation happened as per our advice.
